Mission Statement
The South Carolina School Counselor Association (SCSCA) is a division of the South Carolina Counseling Association (SCCA). The SCSCA is dedicated to advancing the professional growth and advocacy of school counselors across the state. Through fostering ethical and culturally-inclusive practices, we ensure the holistic development and well-being of all individuals within educational settings.

Enhancing professional development opportunities for school counselors by offering online platforms for continuing education, as well as organizing live annual and regional training events specifically tailored to school counseling practices.

Collaborating with regional partners and leveraging membership expertise to develop specialized training programs focused on the unique needs and challenges faced by school counselors.
2. Advocacy for the profession

Amplifying the voice and influence of school counselors in public policy decisions by expanding the role of the public policy committee to specifically address issues related to school counseling and advocating for the inclusion of mental health and education-focused lobbying efforts.

Strengthening alliances with other counseling and education associations within the region/state to collectively advocate for policies that support and enhance the practice of school counseling.

Increasing school counselor membership by highlighting the unique benefits and resources tailored to school counselors through online platforms, annual conferences, and targeted networking opportunities.
3. Ethical and culturally sensitive practices

Establishing a dedicated platform to disseminate updates on legislative changes related to ethics and cultural sensitivity, with a focus on enhancing school counselors' awareness and adherence to ethical standards.
