Opening Session Speaker: Dr. W. Franklin Evans is Vice President of Academics, South Carolina State University in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He is the chief academic officer of the only public historically black university in the state of South Carolina. Dr. Evans is an experienced administrator, professor, and K-12 practitioner. He has conducted numerous faculty development workshops and seminars on Assertive Discipline, Teambuilding, Learning Styles, Effective Communication, and Assessment Strategies. He has served as a mentor and coach and developed persons throughout the southeast who are currently teachers, principals, superintendents, college professors, and deans.
Keynote Speaker: Brooks Harper is a trainer, motivational speaker, and author from Lexington, SC. His books, Why Should We Hire You? and 7 Skills to Make Mills, are tremendous resources for students and educators. They have been incorporated into economics, business, and career-success curricula as the go-to-books for teaching interview skills, self-marketing, personal branding and soft skills development.
Presidential Breakfast Speaker: Dr. Anthony Strange earned his Doctorate in Education from the University of Southern California and has worked as a high school counselor, Assistant and Associate Professor, Chair of the Counseling Department and Chair of Graduate Studies at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. He has supervised internship and practicum students in K-12 and community mental health settings for the last eight years. Dr. Strange has been invited to present at the local, state and national levels, and he has published articles in numerous journals. Past President of the Alaska School Counselor Association and a consultant to school districts in Alaska, he was requested to develop courses for non-counseling professional educators, community counselors, and professional school counselors, which he entitled Counseling Skills for Professional Educators and Counseling Skills for Male Adolescents. Dr. Strange is currently teaching as an adjunct faculty member at Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South Carolina and University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Dr. Strange is a member of the South Carolina Counseling Association and serves as the Bylaws/Parliamentarian Co-Chair on the SCCA Executive Council. He is retired from the Air Force after 23 years of military service.

Speaker: Bradley T. Erford, Ph.D., LCPC, NCC, LPC, LP, LSP, is the 2012-2013 President of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and a professor in the school counseling program of the Education Specialties Department in the School of Education at Loyola University Maryland.
Speaker: Rhonda M. Bryant, Ph.D., LPC, is from Albany, GA and currently serves as President of the American Counseling Association division of Counselors for Social Justice and Associate Professor of Counselor Education at Albany State University. With expertise in social justice and counseling, Dr. Bryant has presented at numerous local, state, and national counseling conventions on topics including systemic change and school counselors; school counselors and advocacy; mental health disparities and minority children; and establishing school to home partnerships that work.
Speaker: Eric Snow, Ed. S., served on the board of WATCH D.O.G.S. as the National Director. From Springdale, Arkansas, he is a father of two children and former owner of a directory publishing company, WATCH D.O.G.S. ® is the innovative father-involvement program that was featured on ABC’s World News Tonight with Charlie Gibson during their “Spirit of America” segment on November 17, 2008.
